SCARECROWS are popping up in front of businesses throughout St George as part of St George Primary School's Spring Fling campaign.

The school's annual fete will be held next month on September 2 and with a spring theme, organisers decided to get the whole town involved during the month of August.

P&C president Amy Mutch said it was all systems go for the fete.

"With the new addition of the scarecrow competition, we are really excited to see businesses around town becoming involved,” Mrs Mutch said.

Along with the scarecrows, Mrs Mutch said fete-goers would be able to visit sideshow alley, a fairy garden and a dessert bar on the day.

"We have a lot of fun things for everyone to enjoy, including some new games, including the 'frog flinger' made for us by the Men's Shed,” she said.

All funds raised on the day will go towards helping the P&C continue to help the students.

"From raising money for camps to buying school supplies, the P&C are very active in the school community, making sure the students can be the best they can,” she said.
