THE St George ICPA Branch did an excellent job hosting the State Conference in town last week.
Delegates from all over Queensland came, along with Queensland Governor Paul de Jersey, who opened the conference, and Federal Senators Fiona Nash and Pauline Hanson, Maranoa MP David Littleproud, Member for Warrego Ann Leahy, and State Shadow Education Minister Tracey Davis.
Michelle Freshwater, one of the conveners from St George said she had received a lot of great comments about how the conference was run.
"In my opinion it was a fantastic conference. We had a lot of people from all over Queensland come, and have received a lot of positive feedback from people who attended,” Mrs Freshwater said.
Over the event food was handled by the ICPA branches of Dirranbandi and Bollon along with Sue Prince and Harry Siddins, further highlighting the extraordinary talent in the Balonne.
Mrs Freshwater said she hoped the state and federal politicians listened to the conference discussions.
"With all the politicians in attendance, we just hope that they have listened to what we are saying. The big thing is that nothing out in the bush is reliable enough, and when we are trying to educate children, run businesses and live out here, reliable infrastructure is important.”
